The Beach and a Crush

So, to my faithful readers...I apologize it's been so long. With my camera still in the shop I am using an old camera that I can't easily upload to my computer...anyway, soon I'll be back to blogging regularly!

Heath is home!!! Woohoo, we survived our first hitch!!! Crazy hectic for three weeks followed by the last two weeks of a very happy family!!! Anyway, it's good to have him home.

We went to the beach this weekend. Why do we not drive the hour to the beach more often. It's my new goal. They had a blast.

Caden hunted seashells and looked ever so much like the geek he his with his floaties and goggles...he is such a non conformist!

Logan (who had never been to the beach) LOVED it!!! He had so much fun and really appreciated all of it.

Toots, well she loved it...she had sand in every fold and crevice. She's such a girly girl!!

Logan's first Beach Trip!

Presley didn't mind crawling in the sand....

And we're done...

Caden has his very first crush on a friend of ours who we go to church with...Carrie (Redmon) S. Steve, her hubby is nice enough to share her attention whenever Caden is around. She has received countless pictures, toys and she also got a handful of seashells.

He told me he likes her eyes...do you blame him?

Logan, why you gotta always steal everyone's ladies???? Hmm, a little taste of things to come?

LOGAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was getting out of the shower and I heard the alarm chime meaning a door had opened so I ran into the living room to see what was going on and Logan was standing in the doorway of the garage peeing into the garage all over my car.

I said, "LOGAN, what in the world are you doing????" He looked at me completely stone faced and said, "Peeing on your tires."

Well, that will teach me to ask that question again.

Bodyguard

I would describe Caden and Logan as best friends. They can fight, but they truly love each other and I can't imagine one without the other.

Monday when I picked them up a new kid in Caden's class named Caden Stembridge ran out and grabbed Logan...all of Caden's class is friends with Logan but when he did this Logan got upset and started to cry. Caden said "Stembridge, what did I tell you about messing with my brother?" And the kid ran off. I said, Caden what in the world was that about and he said that he always bothers Logan in the TV room. I said, well yall need to tell Miss Jane when it happens.

This morning I dropped them off in the TV room and ran to my car to get a form, when I came back in I saw that Stembridge was grabbing Logan around the waist (pretty much just hugging on him)but Logan was very bothered by it and Caden was sitting next to them and when Logan cried out...Caden punched Stembridge in the chest. I was shocked and said Caden, don't hit anyone. Caden's reply, I told him to stop messing with my brother. Logan was practically sitting in Caden's lap at this point.

Let's just say that when I left I winked at Caden...I've never been more proud! BACK OFF STEMBRIDGE!!! :) And I know when Daddy reads this he will be smiling from ear to ear...

And...This is how we roll....

Happy Birthday Mama Sue

I tried to find pictures of my mom and all the kiddos...to no avail...so I need to get more photos of her them. (I have them just not on this computer) Here is one with her and Presley...

My mom is a wonderful mother and grandmother...she is known as Sweet Sue and I think Presley takes after that sweetness...I certainly didn't! :)

With all of the excitement of Mama Sue's birthday...Caden decided it was his kittens birthday...Tiger turned 4 (Even though we got the kitten on Saturday). We had a full blown birthday party, played pin the tail on the Cat, ate cake and Tiger the kitten even got a pet hamster. After our party, Caden sat on the couch and exclaimed, "I am so stressed out from throwing that party"... I said, YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!

Anyway, Happy Birthday to our very favorite Mama Sue!

Nebraska Trip

Last weekend the kids and I (with the help of Uncle Nick) traveled 18 hours to Nebraska for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. I was born in Nebraska and have some very fond memories of the farm and of my wonderful grandparents.

I did not anticipate how much Caden would fall in love with Nebraska, the farm and my grandparents. Before we left he said, I wish Jesus would let us live in Nebraska...which coincidently made my Grandpa smile pretty big!!!

The kids did great and with just a few minor mishaps along the way (presley had a MAJOR blowout in Nick's BRAND new truck...and I am not exagerating when I say MAJOR...we have a carseat on the side of the highway in Oklahoma...Thank goodness that even po dunk towns have Wal Mart!!)

On our way...

Since this was the view most of the way...

we found other ways to entertains ourselves like making fun of sissy...

Now when we were kids we'd make this trip in the back of a pickup truck with a camper and an air up mattress...so yes, they have dvd's now...but I would of so preferred throwing the boys in the bed of the truck if I thought it would pass law inspection!!

Presley and her favorite cousin Madi!

Those that know Heath know that he is ridiculously scared of frogs...Caden's words exactly...Take a picture, for Daddy (He is so his Daddy's son!)

Little Grandma and Presley

Bull Riding practice...Logan liked to stick his tongue out at the bulls...such a tough guy!!!

Uncle Kenny and Presley

Okay, so this kitten almost made the trip home with us...Caden fell in love with her...I felt sorry for the kitten and then on Saturday she was missing...hmmm, I think she felt safer in the woods...than in the hands of a five year old. Needless to say we now own a sweet stuffed kitten who Caden feeds a bottle too each and every day. TOTALLY worth not having to get a real kitten!
Disclaimer...For those of you who don't know...Caden doesn't have a lazy eye...for some reason whenever he is posing for a picture he rolls his eyes up...he's always done it in a very comical way...but as he's aged...it's almost become a nervous habit he can't resist...So, my child proves true the old wives tale...if you keep making that face it'll stick...IT'S SO TRUE!!!

My grandparents had 6 children, who each had 2-6 children who many now have little ones...since all but 3 great grandchildren were on the farm someone thought it would be a great idea to get all the great grandkids on the couch together for a photo op wtih the happy couple...we all began to sing a lullaby and the screaming began...we were all laughing so hard we couldn't even take proper photos...even Grandma was in tears...

Logan has a special place in my uncle Ron's heart...as he was able to get him on a horse (Logan is very scared of all animals...) Good job Uncle Ron!

Yes, my daughter is on a horse in her diaper... she had another blowout...
More photos to come...since my camera broke I have to get some other shots from the weekend from family.

Happy Anniversary Grandma and Grandpa!!!!

Caden: "Mom, why is there a moon and stars?"
Me: "well, it's called the universe and ..."
Caden: "Oh, it's so we don't bump into things in the night."
Me: "Yep!"

Disclaimer, My broken camera is in the shop...post with pictures to come...please don't give up on my blog!
