All about those babies!

The infamous, Daisy! My mom's dog that is the only dog Logan has ever been comfortable around and really the best kid dog I have ever seen...what my three kids put this dog through during my surgery and the fact that she never seemed to mind a bit, I love you Daisy!

My little superhero Video game fanatics! Caden's Karate Class...who knew karate cost more than a new car...still deciding if we are going back but it was fun to do a trial class! Could a girl have any more princess attire on? These are pj's, no princess attire out of the house!
Oh wait, she forgot her princess cell phone! Rock and roll day My little bath beauty! She LOVES getting her haircut. The entire time she says OOOOOHHHH, so pretty! Surgery pictures:

Around each ear I have an incision from the top of my ear down under my ear lobe. I still have no sensory nerves in my ears yet and if you told me I had ear implants, I would totally believe you. My entire face was swollen and bruised for a week. My eyes were black. Four incisions in my leg to disect the nerve from my calf muscle.

Today I feel really good. My energy is up again and I feel somewhat normal. The tube that goes from one ear to the other under my nose is DRIVING ME NUTS b/c I can feel it and move it around. I am hoping I get used to it but I compare it to an oxygen tube that someone has that goes into your nose...it's the same size but under my skin!

Surgery Success...?

So, last Thursday I underwent a 12 hour surgery that disected a nerve from my right leg and was transplanted into my face to connect the nerve on the right side of my face to control the movement of some of the muscles on the left side that have remained paralyzed due to my bells palsy episode in 2007. Things I've learned in this experience...

-I am immune to morphine and that is a crappy thing not to know post surgery while in the ICU.
-I am allergic to most other pain medicines, also a really crappy thing to not know.
-I am not a fan of the ICU nurse at Methodist...she nearly killed me, ironically her name is Joy.
-Having your ears cut open and dug around under causing a really nasty side effect of bruising and swelling.
-A common side effect of long surgery is a butt rash similar to athletes foot. It is more painful and irritating than having your ears cut open!!!

Anyway, keeping it light for the blog. I am so thankful for my Mom who has taken over my job at home and Heath for being the best sidekick to have...always keeping the humor in the air and our wonderful friends and neighbors who have brought by food and gifts...

I love you all and will keep you posted on my status. Pictures MIGHT be posted...we'll see.

Also, more importantly, Caden LOVED the first grade and his teacher. He said it was "awesome". Logan was a little less pumped about pre-k and said it was alright. He's just playing it cool, though!

Should we be concerned?

Caden: Dad are you mad at Ali?
Daddy: No, why?
Caden: Because she picked Roberto instead of Chris, I really liked Chris.

This is a week after the finale...should we be conerned that he's worried about it? Maybe we should be concerned that we let him watch the Bachelorette.

Logan is telling us that he kissed his girlfriend at school but didn't get caught. I said, where did you kiss her? He said, on the cheek but the teachers didn't see it so I didn't go up front. If you kiss at school then you have to go up front to see Miss Jane (Director). Should we be concerned that they have this rule for 4 year olds and mine knows how to get around it?

Should we be concerned that Presley says "I know" when you tell her she's pretty?

I'm not concerned, I mean, Look at her?

The boys are into spiking their hair in the bath...

Kidisms

Caden and I are addicted to Nintendo DS Super Mario Bros...the other night we (meaning me) beat the game and the credits ran and it ended...Caden was very concerned of how it just ended and he was really bothered by it. The next morning he woke up extra early and said, Mom, I just don't get it. I said, What? He says how does it just end after we worked so hard on getting to all the levels. Poor guy...some kid at his school figured out how to access the game again so he can just keep playing all the different levels. Crisis averted.

Logan asked me if I could sleep with him. I said, No, I have to sleep with Daddy. He goes, Why? I said, well when you grow up and get married your wife will sleep with you every night. He said, I hope her name is Roni and she has your hair and your body. (Poor guy, set your standards a tad higher!)

Presley is in love with Puppies, babies and princesses. Somehow in our house of all boy movies and boy toys, she has discovered the Disney Princesses and with her being so sick last week her Nana & Poppa delivered a backpack, books and movie all Princess themed. She says "Chinchess (princess), No White (snow white), arrow (Ariel), Ella (Cinderella)...she calls all of them Mommy and the prince is always daddy. So sweet! So glad she is a girly girl. However if you havne't watched Snow White in quite some time I don't recommend it. It's very scary and there is even a part where this man goes into the forest and raises a knife over snow white to kill her...Presley and the boys watched with their jaws dropped....

Here are a few photos of our noneventful weekend...

One Tuff Cookie

We've always known that Presley was a tough little girl, but she's been struggling with a cough for two weeks and was sent home twice last week with a fever...once home she was given tylenol and bouncing off the walls.

I finally made her a doctor appointment on Friday but almost didn't take her as she seemed fine...luckily I did b/c she has pneumonia. WHAT? We were sent for chest x-rays and Heath and I were both very upset we didn't take her in earlier, the doctor said not to be upset she was very sick but you wouldn't know if from her demeanor. That's my Girl!

Anyway, she has a ruptured air sack which is of concern and she is on lots of meds and breathing treatment...otherwise she seems fine!

Poor baby...

We went to Cheddars for dinner with my brother and Heath took Logan to the bathroom (3 times); at one point he was standing at the urinal and he slipped and busted his face on the urinal (FABULOUS!).

He was okay afterward as he was dancing and being silly...once they returned to the table though and told us what happened we realized Logan's nose was gushing blood and dripping into his bread. Nice! I guess this is where Presley gets her Toughness from b/c he was laughing and thought it was very humorous!

July 4th and other randoms...

We had a fun time for the Fourth celebrating with family in FW as well as celebrating Mom's birthday!

We were also reminded of Fireworks safety when a bad firework landed on my nephews head...please remember when celebrating that you can't be too careful!

Uncle Nick's HOME! Nick's been in Singapore forever and Presley took full advantage of getting reacquanted!

Daddy and his fish...

She had a blast and didn't get out all day!

My sweet girl...

Logan does this every day, lays his clothes out for the next day, little OCD?
Caden, modeling his second lost tooth....
Ready for field day at school!
Fun times

And someone decided to switch clothes...I don't know what is funnier, the clothes or the poses!!

Good times = Future Blackmail!
